If the Closed Topics functionality is enabled for the project (see Permissions for details), a checkmark icon will appear next to each topic’s title.
This icon allows authorized users to mark a topic as closed.
Closing a Topic
- Click the checkmark next to the topic’s name.
- The icon will turn green, and the topic will also be updated in the corresponding column in the table.
- Only users with the appropriate permission level can close topics.
When a topic is closed, its behavior depends on the Closed Topics permission configured for the project:
- If the permission level is Read, the topic is marked as closed but remains editable by users with edit rights.
- If the permission level is Total, the topic becomes fully read-only for all users except those with Total control, preventing any further modifications.
Why close topics?
Closing topics helps project managers maintain control and clarity throughout the project lifecycle.
It allows you to:
- Track which issues or discussions have been resolved
- Prevent accidental changes to finalized information
- Keep the Collaboration module organized and up to date
Closed topics provide a quick, visual way to understand ongoing progress and ensure your team stays aligned.
