The Explorer module allows users to edit data attributes – such as Manufacturer, Comments, or other custom fields – provided that these properties do not affect model geometry.

Defining Who Can Edit Data

Before data can be edited, Project Managers must define which users are allowed to modify specific properties.

To assign editing permissions:

1. Open the Properties
2. Select the data fields you want to allow editing for.
3. Click the User icon at the top.
4. Select the desired users and click
5. Click Apply to save your changes.

Editing Data in Explorer

Once permissions are configured, authorized users can edit properties:

1. Through the Properties tab

• Select an element in the model
• Open the Properties tab
• Editable fields display a pencil icon.
• Double-click the field to edit its value.

2. Through the Explorer Grid

• Editable properties can also be modified directly in the Explorer grid, enabling faster, tabular, and bulk data editing.
• When an editable property is included in a Group By configuration, the pencil icon will appear directly in the grid, allowing inline editing.

All changes are recorded in the model and become immediately available to all users with access.
