The Data Extraction Management page is where the Workplace Managers control how Revit Data Extraction credits are used across projects.
This page is essential when your Workplace uploads Revit models directly to the cloud (via Models Management or the CDE), since these uploads consume data extraction.
Understanding the Table
The table on this page contains several columns that help manage and track extraction usage:
1 – Project Name
Displays all existing projects within the Workplace.
Each row corresponds to a single project.
2 – Project Status
Displays whether the project is currently active or inactive (as defined in the Projects tab)
3 – RVT Data Extraction (source: plugin RVT)
Shows the number of uploads made through the BIMWorkplace Revit Plugin.
These uploads are also unlimited and do not consume extraction credits.
4 – RVT Data Extraction (source: BWP or CDE)
This is the most important column for extraction management.
It indicates whether the project is allowed to use Revit Data Extraction credits
To manage permissions:
- Double-click the cell to enable or disable credit usage for that project.
When enabled, that project may consume credits when a user uploads a Revit model directly to the cloud.
5 – IFC Data Extraction
Shows the number of IFC uploads made in the project.
These are unlimited and do not consume extraction credits.
6 – Log IDs Column
Shows the list of users who consumed extraction credits.
This allows tracking and auditing of usage when needed.
How Users See Their Available Extractions
Inside each project, users can view their available upload options in:
Project Settings → Project Info
This section displays:
- IFC uploads: Always unlimited
- Revit Plugin uploads: Always unlimited
- Revit Direct Cloud Uploads: Number of purchased credits and number remaining
Example display:
- IFC Models: 0 / 0 → Unlimited
- Revit Plugin: 0 / 0 → Unlimited
- Revit (BWP/CDE): 5 / 20 → 5 used, 15 remaining
