1 – What is Pro Rata?
When you upgrade or downgrade your Workplace subscription in the middle of a billing period, the system adjusts the cost according to the time already used.
Example: If you upgrade halfway through the period, you only pay the proportional difference of the remaining days. This adjustment is called a pro rata calculation and is shown in detail on your invoice.
2 – What is Credit Balance?
If you downgrade to a lower-cost plan after already paying for a higher-cost plan, you’ll have a credit balance – the unused portion of your payment.
This credit is automatically applied to your next purchase (whether it’s a subscription renewal or extra services like upload packages). No refunds are issued; the credit is simply deducted from future charges.
Example: imagine that 20 projects cost €100, and 10 projects cost €50. If you have already paid €60 for the 20 projects and downgrade halfway through the subscription period to 10 projects, your credit balance will be €10.
In Short
Pro Rata => adjusts the price for the time already used when you change your plan.
Credit Balance => the leftover value when you downgrade and have overpaid for part of the cycle.
Both are automatically calculated and clearly displayed in your cart before payment.
