Connecting Bimworkplace To Autodesk Forma | Help

Connect your Autodesk account to BIMWorkplace to use content from Autodesk Forma (formerly Autodesk Construction Cloud) with BIMWorkplace projects.

The connection is associated with your BIMWorkplace user account. Connecting Autodesk authorizes BIMWorkplace to access Autodesk Forma, but does not automatically connect a Forma project to a BIMWorkplace project.

Before you start

Make sure that:

You have an Autodesk account.
Your Autodesk account has access to the Autodesk Forma projects and content you need to connect.

To connect a specific Autodesk Forma project to a BIMWorkplace project, you must first complete the Autodesk connection described in this article.

Connecting your Autodesk account

Open your avatar menu and select User Settings.
Open Integrations.
Expand CDE Services.
Find Autodesk ACC and select Connect.
Sign in to your Autodesk account in the authorization window.
Review the requested access and authorize BIMWorkplace.
Return to BIMWorkplace and confirm that Autodesk ACC is shown as connected.

Note: BIMWorkplace currently displays Autodesk ACC in this area of the interface. This is the previous name associated with Autodesk Forma.

Your Autodesk account is now connected to BIMWorkplace.

Connecting your Autodesk account does not automatically make an Autodesk Forma project available in a BIMWorkplace project. The Forma project must also be connected at the project level.

Next step: connecting an Autodesk Forma project

After connecting your Autodesk account, configure which Autodesk Forma project should be associated with the relevant BIMWorkplace project.

This configuration is managed in Project Settings > Autodesk ACC.

Disconnecting Autodesk Forma

To remove your Autodesk connection:

Open User Settings > Integrations.
Expand CDE Services.
Find Autodesk ACC.
Select Disconnect.

Disconnecting revokes the Autodesk connection used by BIMWorkplace. Features that depend on this connection may no longer be able to access Autodesk Forma content until Autodesk is connected again.

Files that were previously copied from Autodesk Forma to the BIMWorkplace CDE are not removed when you disconnect Autodesk. These files are stored in the BIMWorkplace CDE and are independent from the original Autodesk connection.

Troubleshooting

The Autodesk authorization window does not open

Check whether your browser is blocking pop-ups for BIMWorkplace, then select Connect again.

The Autodesk Forma project I need is not available after connecting

Connecting your Autodesk account is only the first step. The Autodesk Forma project must also be associated with the BIMWorkplace project.

When configuring the project connection, only projects available to the connected Autodesk account can be selected.

BIMWorkplace can no longer access Autodesk Forma

The Autodesk authorization may have expired, been revoked, or no longer provide the access required by the integration.

Reconnect your Autodesk account. If the problem relates to an existing project connection, check Project Settings > Autodesk ACC.
