Introduction to the Build Module
The Build module extends BIMWorkplace capabilities into the construction phase by connecting real-world site progress with digital project information.
The first available feature in the Build module is SiteWalk, a solution that combines 360° site captures, BIM models, and construction documentation to provide a visual and collaborative way to monitor project evolution.
With SiteWalk, teams can:
Capture construction progress using 360° cameras.
Link site recordings to floor plans and BIM models.
Navigate through the construction site remotely.
Compare progress between different dates.
Compare the current site condition with the expected BIM model.
Create topics directly from 360° captures or BIM views to report issues and coordinate actions.
How SiteWalk Works
The SiteWalk workflow connects physical site conditions with the digital project environment through four main steps:
Capture the site using a 360° camera
Upload and position project information
Map captured videos to the site layout
Review progress and collaborate with the project team
Capturing Construction Progress
SiteWalk uses 360° cameras to record construction activities while walking through the site.
The recommended workflow is:
Mount the 360° camera, typically on a hardhat.
Walk through the construction area while recording.
Remember approximately where the recording started and ended.
Upload the video to BIMWorkplace.
The system processes the recording and prepares it for positioning within the project.
For the best results, SiteWalk recordings should be captured while walking normally through the site. Using vehicles or moving too quickly is not recommended, as it may affect tracking accuracy.

Connecting Site Reality with BIM Data
SiteWalk can be connected with project information already available in BIMWorkplace.
Teams can combine:
Floor plans
Federated BIM models
360° videos
Construction topics
This creates a single environment where project teams can compare planned construction information with actual site conditions.
