Share

The Share feature allows you to send files or folders to project members or external users using secure and traceable links.

You can control whether recipients access the latest version of a file or a fixed version at the time of sharing.

1.     Selecting Files to Share

a.     Select the file(s) and/or folder(s) in the CDE.

b.     Click Share button in the ribbon to open the sharing panel.

2.     Choosing Recipients

You can share content in two ways:

a.     Share with Project Members

Use this option to share internally with users who already have access to the project.

Actions:

·        Select users, teams or companies

·        Add an optional message

·        Click Apply

Alternatively:

·        Use Links to copy the internal link.

This link opens BIMWorkplace and requires the user to log in.

b.     Share with Anyone with the Link (External Sharing)

Use this option to share files with external users.

Actions:

·        Enter email addresses and add an optional message, or

·        Generate a public link via Links

This link allows direct access to the shared files without requiring login.

3.     Selecting Which Version to Share

Before sharing, choose the access mode:

Latest Version

·        Recipients always access the most recent version

·        Updates made after sharing are reflected automatically

Current Version (Fixed)

·        Recipients access the version available at the time of sharing

·        Future updates do not affect the shared content

4.     Managing Shared Links

When a file or folder is shared publicly, an indicator shows that a public link is active.

To remove access:

1.     Select the shared file(s) or folder(s)

2.     Click Delete Shared in the ribbon.

This immediately disables the public link and prevents further access.
