Topic Images

Adding images to topics improves clarity and helps teams understand issues faster.

BIMWorkplace supports three methods to attach images. The number of images per topic depends on your subscription plan.

     Upload an Image

·        Click Upload Image to select a file from your computer

·        Supported formats: JPG, JPEG, WEBP, PNG

·        The image is attached directly to the topic

Paste an Image

·       Use Paste Image to insert content from the clipboard

·       Example: screenshots from CAD or other tools

·       Useful for quickly documenting issues and highlighting elements

Create a Viewpoint (recommended)

The Viewpoint tool captures images directly from the model with context.

Depending on the capture method, it can store:

·       Camera position

·       Selected elements

·       Hidden or isolated elements

·       Applied filters

This ensures that other users see the model exactly as it was when the topic was created

Capture options:

●      Whole model

·        Stores only the camera position and active model, including section planes or boxes

·        Does not include selections, hidden elements, or filters

●      Visible/Hidden elements:

·        Saves camera position, section, and visibility states

·        Does not include filters

(Note that the ceiling has been hidden to better visualize the water pipes)

●      Visible/Hidden elements + Filter:

·        Stores full context:

o   Camera position

o   Selected, hidden or isolated elements

o   Active filters

(Note that a filter has been applied to hide the architectural model)

Pro Tip: Use Viewpoints for model-related topics. They preserve context and reduce time to locate and resolve issues.
