Ø Yes. Although BIMWorkplace does not have a specific module for 'weekly tasks' in the traditional planning format, this need can be met in a structured way through the Design module.

The Design module is based on the creation and management of topics, which function as work units, representing tasks, pending items, weekly deliverables, or parts of a scope.

In practice, each task can be created as a topic with:

§ A clear title (e.g., “Weekly Delivery – Structure – Floor 2”)

§ A defined responsible person

§ A resolution date (weekly deadline)

§ Status (open, in progress, resolved)

§ Priority

§ Other custom attributes

Additionally, the system can be adapted for scope or weekly routine management through:

§ Custom attributes, such as “Week,” “Phase,” or “Task Type”

§ Filters and groupings, allowing viewing of only current week tasks

§ Dashboards in Insights, to monitor task volume, delays, and performance

§ Quick reports, to generate weekly lists in PDF or Excel for formal tracking

Topics also support comments, history, and attachments, which ensures complete traceability of activities and decisions over time.

In practice, this transforms Design into a flexible task and scope management system, directly integrated with the BIM model and the project context, avoiding parallel tools and centralizing all communication and monitoring in a single environment.

Explorer

v Is it possible to edit IFC file properties in Explorer? And can this data be exported?

Ø Yes, it is possible to edit properties (metadata) of IFC model elements directly in the Explorer module. This editing is done collaboratively, through data tables, without the need to open the model in authoring software.

Ø However, there is an important limitation: data edited in IFC models cannot be exported back to the IFC file.

Unlike the workflow with Revit models, where data can be exported and re-imported while maintaining synchronization, IFC in BIMWorkplace functions as a data management layer within the platform, and not as a complete bidirectional cycle.

In practice, this means:

§ Editing in Explorer serves for data management, validation, and enrichment in the collaborative environment

§ This data can be exported in reports (Excel) for analysis

§ But it is not incorporated back into the original IFC file
