Learning about Explorer

Let’s get to know the main interface of the Explorer module.

This article explains the different components of the screen, as numbered in the reference image below.

1.     View Method

This area contains all options for viewing and splitting the screen.

You can choose to display:

·        Only the elements table

·        Only the 3D model

·        Only the 2D model

·        Or combine multiple views (e.g., table + 3D or table + 3D + 2D), depending on your workflow.

2.     Ribbon

The ribbon menu contains the main tools of the Explorer module and is organized into sections:

·        Structure – Core Explorer functionalities

·        Navigate – Visualization and navigation controls

·        Quick Reports – Data export and reporting tools

·        Integrations – Excel export/import and synchronization options.

3.     Search

The search bar allows you to quickly find:

·        Specific elements

·        Or values within the Explorer table

This is especially useful when working with large or complex models.

4.     Elements Table

The elements table displays all model elements organized hierarchically as specified in the Group By tool.

5.     3D Viewer

The 3D Viewer allows you to:

·        Navigate the federated model

·        Take measurements

·        Create sections and isolate elements

All navigation tools are available in the viewer toolbar.

6.     2D Viewer

The 2D Viewer enables navigation and measurement in 2D views.

It supports floor plans and sheets generated from models, but does not apply to PDF files.

7.     Model Management Bar

The right-side toolbar provides access to:

·        Models Management

·        Filters

·        Properties

·        Go to Room

This bar centralizes model control and analysis tools.
