Topics in the Plugins
Both the Revit and Navisworks plugins connect directly with the Design module in BIMWorkplace, allowing users to view, create, and update topics without leaving their modeling environment.
All changes are synchronized with the platform, ensuring consistency across the project.
1. Syncing Topics
Ø Ensure the Hub is connected to the correct project
Ø In the BIMWorkplace tab, open Topics Manager
Ø Click the refresh icon
§ All topics from the connect project will be loaded
2. Toolbar Overview
Common tools in both plugins:
Search Bar – locate topics by name
View Columns – show or hide columns
Filter Icon – filter topics by clash-related fields
Create Topic – open the topic creation pop-up
When a topic is selected, three more buttons become active:
Duplicate Topic – create a copy
Edit Topic – open and modify the topic
Delete Topic – remove the topic
3. Creating Topics
When Creating a topic:
· Capture a viewpoint based on the current 3D view
· Upload images or screenshots
· Fill in required project attributes
· Click Apply to create the topic
After the topic is created:
Viewpoint – navigate to the issue location in the model
Clashes – access the clash list associated with the topic
Comments – access and update the comment thread
4. Important Note
All changes made in the plugins are synchronized with BIMWorkplace.
Edits, deletions, and new topics are reflected across the platform according to user permissions.
