Model ID mapping

UI: Model ID mapping (BETA)
Title: Repair topic viewpoints after a model is removed
Deep link: ?settings=project&section=model-reference-remaps
Audience: Design / CDE Admins

What it's for

Mapping an old model ID (still referenced in viewpoints/clashes) to a current federated model, to repair viewpoints after model removal/replacement.

Relevance

Without remapping, Topics and clashes point to non-existent models — “viewpoint failed”. Essential after re-upload or federation change.

Usage example

After replacing Architecture.ifc, the coordinator sees the old ID in Model IDs that need attention, Add replacement mapping → From old ID → To federated model, and confirms.

Who can use it

Model ID mapping

Tips / common errors

  • No federated models → paste GUID manually in To.
  • Remapping does not recreate geometry; it only resolves IFC GUID lookups in the replacement model.
