Workplace Attributes
Workplace Attributes in BIMWorkplace define the standardized fields used to describe projects within a Workplace. These attributes structure the project information that may be filled when creating or editing a project, ensuring that all projects follow the same data structure.
The attributes appear as dropdown fields in the project information form and help maintain consistency in how projects are categorized and managed across the organization.
The attribute categories available are:
· Business Units
· Construction Types
· Contract Types
· Project Types
· Quality Standards
Although BIMWorkplace provides default values for these categories, managers can customize them according to the company’s needs. Values that are not relevant can be removed, and new ones can be created to better reflect the organization’s project portfolio.
By configuring these attributes in advance, every new project created in the Workplace will follow the same classification structure. This reduces manual entry, improves data consistency, and makes project information easier to filter, analyze, and manage.
A well-defined attribute structure also accelerates project setup and ensures that teams work with standardized project information across the entire Workplace.
How to Edit Workplace Attributes:
Click on the kebab menu that appears when hovering over the desired attribute and click Edit.
To add a new value, click on + Add at the top of the pop-up, type in the desired name and click the check-mark to confirm.
To edit or delete an existing option, hover over the name and click the pencil to edit or the trashcan to delete (and confirm in the pop-up).
You can also deactivate values, so that they do not appear in the menus but are not deleted.
