Audience: CDE Admins / BIM managers
Purpose
To configure file naming standards: delimiter, convention attributes, related attributes, preview, assign to folders, rename/duplicate/delete.
Relevance
This is the rule that the Holding Area validates. Poorly defined standards = uploads eternally in holding.
Example of use
The BIM manager Creates “ISO Project Files”, delimiter Hyphen (-), Select Attributes (Project, Discipline, Number…), Preview, Select Folder to apply, and tests an upload.
Who can use it
Project Settings naming.
Screen Anatomy
- Naming Standard Selector + Create.
- Delimiter, Rename/Delete/Duplicate actions.
- Convention preview.
- Select Attributes / Related Attributes tables.
- Assign to folders.

Messages

| Cannot edit the naming standard while it is applied to folders… | Remove from folders before editing |

How to use
- Project Settings → Naming Standards.
- Create or select standard → delimiter + attributes.
- Preview → Assign to folders.
- Test upload; correct in Holding if invalid.

- To edit an applied NS: remove from folders → edit → reapply.
