Integration in BIMWorkplace is designed to make model data editing more flexible and efficient, especially for bulk updates and offline workflows.
You can edit model properties in three ways:
- Directly in the authoring software (Revit)
- Online within BIMWorkplace
- Offline by exporting data to Excel
1 – Export Data to Excel
- Go to the Integrations
- Click Export Excel.
- The export process may take a few minutes, depending on model size.
- Once completed, the Excel file will be available for download.

2 – Edit Data Offline
- Open the exported Excel file.
- Edit the desired fields (for example, Comments, Manufacturer, or other editable properties).
- Save the file when finished.
This method is ideal for:
- Batch editing large amounts of data
- Reviewing or enriching model information offline
- Collaborating with stakeholders who do not access the platform directly.
3 – Import the Edited File
- In BIMWorkplace, click Import Excel.
- Select the updated Excel file.
- Confirm to complete the import.
- BIMWorkplace will update the corresponding data in the cloud.
After import, a confirmation window shows the result of the operation, allowing you to verify which fields were updated successfully.

4 – Sync with Revit (Important Limitation)
If you are working with Revit models, you can synchronize the updated data back into the native Revit model using the BIMWorkplace Revit Plugin.
Important:
- Re-importing data into the original authoring model is only available for Revit models, and only via the BIMWorkplace Plugin.
- For IFC or other formats, Excel integration is limited to cloud-based data editing and management within BIMWorkplace.
With this workflow, BIMWorkplace centralizes model data management while remaining flexible – supporting online editing, offline Excel workflows, and full round-trip synchronization with Revit when applicable.
