To enrich the information available in a topic and support better decision-making, BIMWorkplace allows you to add attachments directly to topics.
This keeps all relevant documents in one place and makes collaboration clearer and more efficient.
1 – What You Can Attach
You can upload most file types commonly used in projects, including:
- Images (JPG, PNG, WEBP, etc.)
- PDF documents
- Spreadsheets (XLS, XLSX)
- BIM and CAD files (IFC, RVT, DWG)
- Other project-related documents
2 – How to Add Attachments
-
- Open the topic and go to the Attachments tab
- Click the cloud icon to select a file from your computer or drag and drop the file into the attachment area
- The file will appear in the list of attachments once uploaded.
3 – Managing Attachments
- Download – all users with access to the topic can download attached files
- Delete – files can be removed if no longer needed (depending on your permission level)
4 – Best Practices
- Attach supporting documents (e.g. drawings, specifications, calculations) to provide full context
- Combine attachments with comments and images to keep all related information consolidated in a single topic
Attachments help ensure that discussions, decisions, and supporting documents stay connected and easily accessible throughout the project lifecycle.
