Both the Revit and Navisworks Plugins connect directly with the Collaboration module in BIMWorkplace, allowing you to visualize, create, and update topics without leaving your modeling software.
This integration ensures that all changes remain synchronized across the platform, keeping your team aligned in real time.
1 – Syncing Topics
- Make sure your Hub is connected to the correct Project in BIMWorkplace (see how here)
- In the BIMWorkplace tab, click Topics Manager
- Click the refresh arrow next to your name
- All existing topics from the connect project will now appear
- All existing topics from the connect project will now appear
2 – Toolbar Overview
The first set of buttons is the same in both plugins (Revit and Navisworks):
Search Bar – quickly locate topics by their names
View Columns – expand or hide columns in the list for a customized view
Filter Icon – filter topics by clash columns (e.g., clash assigned to)
Create Topic – open the creation panel to start a new topic (see section below)
When a topic is selected, three more buttons become active:
Duplicate Topic – copy the current topic
Edit Topic – opens the topic to modify information or attributes
Delete Topic – remove the topic from the project
3 – Creating Topics
When you click the Create Topic icon, a pop-up will open:
- Add Viewpoints (which sync with the 3D view currently on screen)
- Upload images or screenshots
- Fill in all relevant or mandatory Project Attributes
- Click Apply to create the topic
After the topic is created:
Viewpoint – jump directly to the location of the issue in the model
Clashes – open the clash list associated with the topic, if available (from our Navisworks plugin – check it out)
Comments – open the synced comments thread (all updates here are reflected in BIMWorkplace in real time)
4 – Important Note
Any changes made within the Revit or Navisworks plugins are instantly synchronized with the BIMWorkplace platform.
This means edits, deletions, and new topics will be visible to all team members in real time (permissions must be edited in the platform – click here to see how).
